Embibo Foundation was founded by Kabibi Florence Tumwebaze in 2017 as an Initiative to help rural household women and youth who were part of her Family Prayer Fellowship Cell to address widespread poverty. Support to Cell members included the provision of small seed grants to enable them start self-help projects.
Miss Kabibi Florence Tumwebaze a believer in Christian teachings about planting a seed had faith in empowering these rural women and youth with small amounts of capital just as a seed for planting is always small but when it germinates, it produces big yields, went on to fundraise from family and friends a tune of USD100,000,
The initial cohort of 30,000 women and youths with no income generating activities at all were enrolled and each given seed capital of about USD3 and have discovered that about 40% of the cohort members reported good progress.
The good progress propelled Miss Kabibi Florence Tumwebaze to register the Initiative into a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) to empower women and youth sustainably by providing seed capital for their small businesses and relevant business skills and subsequently EMBIBO FOUNDATION was incorporated under the Laws of the Republic of Uganda on 9th February 2022 vide Company Registration No. 80020003489658 and was duly registered with the National Bureau for Non-Governmental Organizations vide Registration No.6004 dated 4th March 2022 and is permitted to operate as a Non-Governmental Organization under Permit No. 7315 dated 4th March 2022.
